Setting up a business Facebook page is easy. Unfortunately, you can no longer create a business Facebook page without a personal account. A few years back, you could. However, Facebook decided that you needed a personal account to be attached to the business account. You can create the Facebook business page and add multiple administrators.
People who follow your business page don’t need to know who the administrators are. You can set up privacy settings so that you can remain anonymous if you so desire.
How do you set up a business Facebook page? It’s pretty simple.
Start with a name for your page and a blurb about your business
Your page name should be your business’ name for consistency of branding and to make it easy for people to find you on Facebook. Use the about section to then describe your business in a brief manner. You can use a keyword or two in your description for SEO purposes so your page can be found on the internet. A good description doesn’t need to be long. In fact, Facebook has a limited number of characters for you to fill in your description.
Add a profile photo and a cover photo
You will want to choose photos that are representative of your business. Many businesses use their logo as their profile picture. An image of your store or products would make a good cover photo. The important thing is to make sure they’re related to your business. You can change them based on seasons or marketing campaigns.
Your page’s profile picture will display at 170 X 170 pixels on computers, 128 X 128 pixels on smartphones and 36 X 36 pixels on most feature phones. It will be cropped to fit a square. If the picture is too large, you will be notified when you try to post it and you can crop it if you want. If it loses some of the integrity, it’s best to choose another picture. Your Facebook business page’s cover photo displays at 820 pixels wide by 312 pixels tall on your page on computers and 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall on smartphones. It does not display on feature phones. It must be at least 399 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall or Facebook won’t accept it.
Add a call to action to your Facebook business page.
At the top of your page, you can add a call to action that directs your page visitors to do something like visit your website or call your store. Adding a call to action button is as easy as a few clicks.
Once you’ve created your business Facebook page following the simple steps, you can publish your page as soon as it’s complete. Yes, you can keep your page unpublished while you are creating it so that you don’t premiere it on Facebook until it’s done to your satisfaction. You can change your details in the Settings area at any time.
You can also start posting right away. Even before you promote your page, you want the semblance of activity. Start by posting updates about your business, and special offers as soon as your Facebook page is live. Remember that images and videos get more interaction so include them as often as possible
It’s a good idea to turn on Facebook Messenger so that you can connect to customers one-on-one. Finally, you’ll want to check your Insights regularly on your business Facebook page so that you can see how people are engaging with your business on Facebook. You’ll learn how many people your posts reach and much more.
